Grant Awards

The most visible activity of Lutheran Ministry Foundation is the awarding of grant monies to ministries. LMF receives any number of grant applications each year requesting monies in amounts which range from several hundred dollars to hundreds of thousands of dollars.

LMF has two types of grant awards. Small Grants are awards of $2,500 or less while Large Grants are awards of more than $2,500. The applicant determines which type of grant will be awarded if approved by submitting an application for either a Small Grant or a Large Grant. Once received, grant applications are reviewed by the Board of Directors for both a specific need and a commitment to advance the tenets of the Lutheran faith. Since its founding in 1981, LMF has awarded over 220 grants totaling in excess of $1,700,000 to ministries.
